Economic Mission to Belarus PDF Print E-mail

18th february 2010 - ACCOA informs that it is in programme an economic-institutional mission in the Republic of Belarus and particularly in the capital, Minsk, and Vitebsk region. The event, organized in association with the Regional Chamber of Commerce of Vitebsk, is open to professionals interested in developing trade relations with the Republic of Belarus in various areas such as food processing, tourism, transport, automotive and wood.

After the first humanitarian and cultural initiatives promoted by our country in the early 90s, ACCOA has been one of the first institutions to establish economic and institutional relations with the Republic of Belarus.
The visit of President Lukashenko in Rome last April and the visit of the Prime Minister Berlusconi in November of the same year opened the door to a country with an high economic potential. The Republic of Belarus lies close to Russia and it has no trade barriers with it, that’s why Belarus seems to be a launching pad for the larger Russian economy.
The Republic of Belarus is an emerging market whose main activities are mechanical engineering, chemical and petrochemical branches, light industry, food and wood carving industries. Moreover we remind the importance of the farming sector and the agriculture, mainly based on products such as flax and potatoes. Thanks to the large amount of lakes and forests, the Republic of Belarus begins to develop tourism.
